GAMBARAN KESEHATAN MENTAL PADA ADHA DAN NON ADHA DI WILAYAH SUMATERA SELATAN
Mental health is a state of physical and mental health in which a person is able to live daily life with a sense of security and peace. In children with HIV/AIDS, it is known that they have a double burden compared to HIV/AIDS negative children where it greatly affects the mental state of the child. This study aims to see the overview of mental health in ADHA and Non ADHA. This research is quantitative research with a descriptive approach. The study design used Case Control with a sampling technique using purposive sampling. The sample in this study were children who were positive for HIV/AIDS for cases and children who were negative for HIV/AIDS for controls. The sample size in this study was 61 respondents. In the univariate analysis, the description of ADHA with mental health disorders was 88.9% and Non ADHA was 36.5%, while ADHA who did not experience mental health disorders was 11.1% and Non ADHA was 63.5%. The average age of the respondents is 11.03 years with the lowest age of respondents being 5 years and the highest age of respondents being 16 years. It can be concluded that the percentage of mental health disorders in ADHA is higher than that of non ADHA so that there is a need to increase health monitoring in ADHA, strengthen cross-sectoral coordination, family training/guidance as a child health care center, and positive activities carried out by health cadres or communities who care about HIV/AIDS because mental health disorders can indirectly cause physical decline thereby increasing the chances for ADHA to experience opportunistic infections.
