Traditional markets are one of the public service facilities that have unfavorable environmental conditions so that they can become the main route for the spread of disease through water, air, and food media. This study aims to analyze environmental sanitation in Bukit Kecil Market and Soak Bato Market, Bukit Kecil District including the provision of clean water, waste management, waste water disposal, and the presence of vectors. This study uses a qualitative design with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and measurement. Informants in the study were Perumda Pasar, head of the market, cleaners, traders, and market visitors who were selected using purposive sampling technique. Analysis of the data used is content analysis. Validity test using triangulation technique of sources, methods, and data. The results showed that environmental sanitation in the Traditional Markets of Bukit Kecil District generally did not meet the standards according to the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2020 concerning Healthy Markets. The provision of clean water has not been fulfilled in the component of the distance between the pollutant source and the water source and no testing or improvement of water quality has been carried out. Waste management has not been fulfilled in the components of unsegregated waste bins and the TPS location is on the main market route. Disposal of waste water has not been fulfilled in the component of unavailability of WWTP and no testing of outlet waste has been carried out. The existence of vectors is not fulfilled in the components, there are still vectors in the market area with a population index of flies and mice above the quality standard value, and no special vector control is carried out by market managers.
