In general, appearance is the main factor for young women. For most young women, a thin, small, and slender body is the ideal body shape, this is because the environment emphasizes that beauty is measured by physical appearance, so that a negative perception of body image arises in young women. Negative perceptions of body image have a negative impact on nutritional status and health problems. To prevent this from happening, it is necessary to increase knowledge through balanced nutrition education. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of balanced nutrition e-booklet media on knowledge and perception of body image in adolescent girls at SMAN 5 Bandar Lampung. This research was conducted in October 2021. The design of this study used a quasi-experimental approach with the research design of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample of this research is the young women of SMAN 5 Bandar Lampung totaling 60 respondents, sampling using purposive sampling. This research was conducted by providing balanced nutrition education as a form of intervention. Knowledge measurement was carried out using a balanced nutrition questionnaire and body image perception was measured using the Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ-34), measurements were carried out before (pretest) and after (posttest) balanced nutrition intervention. Data were analyzed using statistical applications using paired sample t-test and independent t-test. The results showed that there was an effect of balanced nutrition education on increasing knowledge and perception of body image in adolescent girls (p value = 0.000). There was a significant difference in the average knowledge (p value = 0.021) and the average perception of body image (p value = 0.048) between the experimental group and the control group after each treatment was given. The conclusion of this study is that balanced nutrition education using e-booklets affects the knowledge and perception of body image in young women.
