HUBUNGAN PERILAKU MAKAN, STATUS GIZI, RIWAYAT KELUARGA, DAN AKTIVITAS FISIK DENGAN RISIKO KEJADIAN DIABETES MELITUS PADA GURU SMA NEGERI 1 DAN 2 KOTA PALEMBANG
Diabetes mellitus is one of the four non-communicable diseases in the world. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic non-communicable metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia caused by insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. This can result from eating behavior, poor nutritional status, family history of illness, and lack of physical activity. This study aims to determine the relationship between eating time, food intake, food group, nutritional status, family history, and physical activity with the risk of diabetes mellitus in SMA Negeri teachers in Palembang City. This type of research is descriptive analytic using a cross sectional design. The sample in this study found (are) 74 people (samples) who were selected by simple random sampling method. Chi square test were used data in data analysis. The results showed that the proportion of male respondents having good meal times was lower than female respondents. respondents have a lack of food (47.3%) with an average food intake 89.4%. The types of processed carbohydrates and sugar that are often consumed are rice (97.3%), foods high in saturated and trans fat, fruit high in sugar, and sugary drinks that are often consumed are oil (67.6%), bananas (24.3%) , and sweet (29.7%). There are 29 respondents (39.2%) with obesity nutritional status. Family history with diabetes there were 16 respondents (21.6%). There were 12 people (16.2%) who only did light physical activity. The results obtained from this study did not find a relationship between the food group, food intake (p = 0,571), family history (p = 1,000), and nutritional status (p = 0.293) with the risk of diabetes mellitus in SMA Negeri teachers in Palembang City. Meal time (p=0.002) and physical activity (p=0.009) had a significant relationship with the risk of diabetes mellitus in senior high school teachers 1 and 2 in Palembang City. it is hoped that teachers can pay more attention to eating behavior, nutritional status, and physical activity because there are still teachers who have bad meal times, excessive amounts of food, consumption of types of foods that trigger diabetes, obesity nutritional status, and lack of physical activity.
