One of the efforts to reduce the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) is to maximize the implementation of the exclusive breastfeeding program in accordance with the policies contained in Government Regulation number. 33 of 2012. However, exclusive breastfeeding in South Indralaya District has not run optimally, it is known from the program coverage that has not reached the target. The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation of monitoring and evaluation of the exclusive breastfeeding program in South Indralaya District. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Selection of informants based on the principle of suitability and adequacy of information. The results showed that the input component, monitoring and evaluation officers for the exclusive breastfeeding program were in accordance with PP no. 33 of 2012, but the commitment of officers is still lacking, there is no budget available to carry out monitoring and evaluation, the facilities and infrastructure are not complete, and the methods used have not been socialized to the monitoring and evaluation officers of the Puskesmas. In the component of the monitoring and evaluation process, the preparation and implementation of monitoring and evaluation has not run optimally. Reports carried out by the Puskesmas are still manual and have never made a report on cases of providing formula milk assistance to infants under 6 months of age. One of the follow-up actions given is related to the results of monitoring and evaluation in the form of counseling on the Exclusive Breastfeeding Program. The conclusion of this study is that the components of the Input and Process moonitoring and evaluation of the exclusive breastfeeding program have not run optimally, therefore the output of the success of the exclusive breastfeeding program has not reached the national target.
