HUBUNGAN KONDISI LINGKUNGAN RUMAH DENGAN KEJADIAN MALARIA DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS PAGAR GUNUNG, PUSKESMAS BUNGAMAS, DAN PUSKESMAS MERAPI II KABUPATEN LAHAT PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN

Malaria is an acute infectious disease caused by the bite of a female Anopheles mosquito infected with a parasite of the genus Plasmodium. Malaria is one of the priority global health problems. The API value in South Sumatra Province is 0.01 per 1000 population. Whereas at Lahat Regency has an API of 0.02 per population. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between home environmental conditions and the incidence of malaria in the Pagar Gunung Health Center, Bungamas Health Center, Merapi II Health Center, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra Province. This study uses a case control method, to find the relationship between risk factors including the environment in the house, the environment outside the home and the habits of the occupants of the house that affect the occurrence of malaria disease (cause effectelation). The number of samples in this study were 56 respondents, case samples were taken based on laboratory data from the puskesmas as many as 28 respondents and control samples were taken from registers of patients who were declared negative for malaria at the puskesmas. The results of the bivariate analysis that became risk factors were the condition of the walls of the house (OR= 3,800 95% CI= 1,255- 11,502), the presence of wire netting (OR= 3,987 95% CI= 1,178—13,495), the presence of a ceiling/ceiling (OR= 4,600 95% CI= 1,360—15,554), presence of bushes (OR= 4,636 95% CI= 1,478—14,543), presence of ditches/gullies (OR= 4,000 95% CI= 1,284—12,465), habit of using mosquito nets (OR= 4,500 95% CI= 1,231-16,452), habit of using mosquito repellent (OR= 5,200 95% CI 1,427- 18,948). Through this research, it is hoped that the Health Office will carry out monitoring, counseling, and education activities regarding environmental care so that it does not become a breeding ground for mosquitoes and provide material assistance so that people can improve the condition of their homes accordingly.
