Background. Orthodontic treatment has several advantages, such as for increasing smile esthetic. One of the important components in smile esthetic is smile line. Smile line is the harmony between the curvature of the incisal edges of the maccillary anterior teeth towards the upper border of the lower lip. Smile line could be affected by some factors, such as Angle ’s malocclusion. Aim. The aim of this study was to determine the smile line types in Angle ’s Class I and Class II Malocclusions which could be seen by orthodontic digital photography. Material and Method. This study was an analytical study with a cross sectional design. Sixty samples which consist of thirty subjects with Angle ’s Class I Malocclusion and thirty subjects with Angle ’s Class II Malocclusion were chosen in this study. Smile line types could be seen by orthodontic digital photography which taken durmg social posed smile in Natural Head Position (NHP) and determined by making a line along the maxillary incisal edges of anterior teeth towards the upper border of the lower lip in Adobe Photoshop application. Data was analyzed by chi-square test. Results. The result of the study showed that parallel is the most common smile line in both Angle ’s malocclusion groups, but Angle ’s class I malocclusion has higher difference between parallel and flat smile line than Angle ’s class II malocclusion.
