This study discusses "community empowerment strategies to develop agro-tourism in Semambu Island Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir regency, South Sumatra"” In an effort to introduce village agritourism to the outside community, a strategy is needed to develop agritourism. Strategies are needed to design how the community or a group to make Village agritourism a good village tourism. The utilization of Village Community Empowerment is one of the efforts made to develop agritourism. The purpose of the study was to determine and analyze community empowerment strategies to develop agro-tourism in Semambu Island village. This study uses qualitative research with a descriptive approach, collection techniques carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study are in an effort to develop agritourism through the theory of Community Empowerment Strategy from Suharto which consists of five aspects, namely, motivation, increased awareness and ability, self-management, resource mobilization, development and network development. However, efforts made to develop agro-tourism in Semambu Island Village have not been successful due to lack of funds and support from the local government and inadequate facilities to introduce village tourism to the wider community and make Village agro-tourism better.
