Plaque control is an important factor for wearers of fixed orthodontic appliance to support the success of treatment. The simplest of plaque control method is brushing the teeth. Wearers offbced orthodontic appliance are suggested t o brush their teeth using orthodontic toothbrush. However, it can also be used an additional interdental brush to remove plaque. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of ejfectiveness in decreasing of dental plaque index in wearers offbced orthodontic appliance who only use an orthodontic toothbrush with the wearers who use orthodontic tooth brush plus interdental brush using Bass techniques. Quasi-experiment methode was used in this study. Samples were 56 students that wearers of fbced orthodontic appliance in SMA Negeri 15 Palembang which consists of 28 students in group A were brushing their teeth with an orthodontic toothbrush using Bass techniques and 28 students in group B were brushing their teeth with an orthodontic toothbrush plus interdental brush using Bass techniques.
