Anesthetic is a step to stop the illness when surgical operation happen and many others procedures which make some illness in the body. Anesthetic could be divide by two groups, they are general anesthetic and local anesthetic. In a dentistry operation, anesthetic must be used to stop the illness. One of local anesthetic in amida’s group which commontly use in dentistry are lidocaine 2% and mepivacaine 3%. Lidocaine and mepivacaine have their own action time. Research have the differences action time anesthetics local in amida’s group : lidocaine 2 % and mepivacaine 3 % without adrenaline as a purpose. This research is an experimental research with the samples are collegents of secretary clinic Dentistry Study Programe Medical Faculty Sriwijaya University in Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang. Sample divided in to two groups, first group with giving anesthetic lidocaine 2 % without adrenaline and second group with giving anesthetic mepivacaine 3 % without adrenaline. Action time be calculated from the samples don’t feel the stimulation in lip, tounge, and cheek area until the samples can feel the stimulation , then analyzed with using student T test, in order to know the differences of that groups. Research’s result indicate the average value of beginning reaction local anesthetic : lidocaine 2 % without adrenaline is 3,6 minutes and the average value of beginning reaction local anesthetic : mepivacaine 3 % without adrenaline is 5 minutes. Beside that, research also indicate the average action time value of local anesthetic : lidocaine 2 % without adrenaline is 84,87 minutes and the average action time value of local anesthetic : mepivacaine 3 % without adrenaline is 94,33 minutes. According to statistic’s accounting, there is no result which means in the differences action time of two kinds of anesthetic which is given without adrenaline. The conclusion is no means in action time differences at anesthetics local in amida’s group : lidocaine 2 % and mepivacaine 3 % which is given without adrenaline.
