PERAN PERSONAL GROWTH INITIATIVE TERHADAP DISTRES PSIKOLOGIS PADA MAHASISWA ERA PANDEMI COVID-19
This study aims to determine the role of personal growth initiative (PGI) towards psychological distress on undergraduate students during the COVID-19 pandemic era. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a role for PGI on psychological distress on college students during the COVID-19 pandemic era. Respondents in this study were 200 undergraduate active students in Indonesia. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The measuring instrument used is the General Health Questionnaire-12 (GHQ-12) which was adapted into Indonesian by Idaiani dan Suhardi (2006) and the PGI scale which refers to the PGI dimension from Robitschek et al. (2012). Data analysis in this study used simple regression technique. The results of the regression analysis showed that the R square value between PGI and psychological distress was 0.065, the F value was 13,784, and the significance value was 0.000 (p < 0.005). This shows that PGI has a significant role in psychological distress, thus the hypothesis proposed in this study can be accepted.
