The purpose of the research was to manage the pest with intregated in
papaya planting at Administrative unit of Timbangan, Subdistrict of North
Inderalaya, District of Ogan Ilir, South Sumatera on May 2012 until November 2012.
Method used in this research was experimental method. Experiment was
used by directly observation to papaya. Fruit flies were trapped by modified steiner
trap. Parameters were number and spesies of fruit flies caught, control of pest insect
and snail.
The result of this research showed four spesies of fruit flies that attack
papaya i.e Bactrocera dorsalis, Bactrocera papaya, Bactrocera caudatus and
bactrocera Sp. The control of Paracoccus marginatus showed spraying of soap
“lerak” directly on papaya plant could decrease attack of Paracoccus marginatus in
papaya eventhough the result was not satisfied. Control of Paracoccus marginatus
was better by physical treatment snail in papaya plant was done by taking and
collecting directly from plantation and then throw them away. It was a very effective
control to decrease population.
