FAKTOR DETERMINAN PERILAKU PERAWATAN ORGAN REPRODUKSI PADA REMAJA.
Adolescence is vulnerable to Reproductive Tract Infections (RTIs) due to poor reproductive organ care behavior. Reproductive organ care behavior are related to several factors, including gender, information exposure, allowance, toilet and bathroom hygiene, family support, knowledge, and attitudes. The aims of this study is to find out the determinant factor on adolescents’ reproductive organ care behavior. This study took a cross-sectional strategy and used observational analytics. The study sample consisted of 344 participants which are 174 girl adolescents and 170 boy adolescents and was taken with a multistage random sampling technique. Data collection used questionnaires. The results of bivariate data analysis using chi-square tests revealed that factors related to reproductive care behavior were knowledge (p=0,000), attitudes (p=0,000), and allowance (p=0,049). Factors unrelated to reproductive care behavior were gender (p=0,289), information exposure (p=0,205), toilet and bathroom hygiene (p=0,788), and family support (p=0,725). The results of multivariate analysis using logistic regression tests obtained knowledge most related to the reproductive organ care behavior with an OR value = 3,409 (p=0,000). It means adolescents with good knowledge have 3,409 times higher opportunities to have good behavior of reproductive organ care. Knowledge may create awareness, which causes adolescents to behave in accordance with their knowledge. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the adolescents’ knowledge in order to make adolescents understand and aware of the importance of reproductive organ care. Providing health education regarding the reproductive organ care using leaflet is needed to increase adolescent’s knowledge.
