In 2019, the world was shaken by the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, which was first discovered in Wuhan, China. The spread of the COVID-19 disease is very fast, which has prompted the Indonesian Government to make policies in Government Regulation No. 21 of 2021 regarding PSBB (Large-Scale Social Restrictions) in an effort to prevent an increase in cases and transmission of the disease. In government policies in the field of education, the government stipulates that students are required to do distance learning which is done at home. There are 2 methods of distance learning, namely (Synchronous and Asynchronous). Without realizing it, distance learning has an impact on the condition of students' mental health disorders which have a significant increase. This study aims to analyze the effect of the distance learning process on the mental health of students from the Faculty of Public Health, Sriwijaya University during the COVID-19 Pandemic Era. This research is a quantitative study with a cross sectional, with a total sample of 108 students consisting of three study programs and three classes at the Faculty of Public Health, Sriwijaya University. The statistical test used is the Chi Square Test. The results of the study based on bivariate analysis showed that 33 students experienced mental health disorders in the distance learning process in this pandemic based on the analysis and it was also found that there was no effect between gender and internet costs on the distance learning process on students' mental disorders, then the existence of the influence of the internet network and distance learning on the mental health of the students of the Faculty of Public Health, Sriwijaya University during the COVID 19 pandemic era. It is recommended to students to do more focused learning, students are advised to be more active in discussing, students can manage the use of internet quota and students do light stretches when doing distance learning.
