PEMBERIAN MEDIKASI PADA PENDERITA HEMOFILIA YANG AKAN DILAKUKAN TINDAKAN PENCABUTAN GIGI
The haemophiliacs are characterized by a deficiency of coagulant factor which leads to increased bleeding at dental extraction and in the postoperative period. Haemophilia A, the most common of the haemophilia, is associated with deficiency of factor VIII coagulant protein. Haemophilia B (Christmas disease) is caused by deficiency of factor IX coagulant protein. Both these conditions have sex-linked recessive inheritance. In the past, extractions in haemophiliacs have been fatal, and extractions are still common emergencies. Patients with mild and moderate haemophilia are difficult to diagnosed because the symptoms may not be apparent clinically and can recognized only with prolonged bleeding after tooth extraction. Therefore a detailed history is still an important method of diagnosis. The overall management of haemophiliacs depends on recognition and assessment of patients, decisions on treatment policy, planning of essential extractions, preoperative preparation and replacement therapy, choice of anasthesia, and postoperative care. Proper dental and medical evaluation of patients is therefore necessary before treatment, especially if an invasive dental procedure is planned. The management of patients with haemophilia A or haemophilia B requires hospitalization controlled by a team that consist of number of experts in their respective fields.
