ANALISIS KADAR TOTAL AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN PADA FORMULASI TEH HERBAL DAUN SALAM (SYZYGIUM POLYANTHUM) DENGAN PENAMBAHAN SERAI (CYMBOPONG)
Antioxidants are needed to protect the body from the effects of free radicals and reduce their negative effects. Natural antioxidants can be obtained from natural ingredients such as spices. Herbal tea drinks with spices as raw materials are very potential because they contain antioxidants that are beneficial for the health of the body. Utilization of bay leaves and lemongrass in the manufacture of herbal teas which contain antioxidants that can help lower blood pressure. This study aims to analyze the levels of antioxidant activity in the bay leaf formulation with the addition of selected lemongrass and control formulations. This research is an experimental study using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. This research is part of umbrella research. The treatments in this study were the concentrations of bay leaves and lemongrass, namely F0 (100%: 0%), F1 (90%: 10%), F2 (80%: 20%), F3 (70%: 30%). Antioxidant activity analysis was carried out at the Chem-Mix Laboratory, Yogyakarta. Laboratory data analysis used one-way ANOVA test. The results of the one-way ANOVA test showed that there were significant differences between the two formulations based on the treatment given. The control formulation (F0) has an antioxidant activity value of 706.48 ppm and the selected formulation (F3) has an antioxidant activity value of 779.52 ppm. The antioxidant ability of bay leaf herbal tea with the addition of lemongrass is categorized as very weak but still has potential as an antioxidant.
