PERAN PEMERINTAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN ESKPOR BATUBARA: STUDI KASUS PROYEK PENGEMBANGAN INFRASTRUKTUR SUMBER DAYA ENERGI BATUBARA DI PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN.
Currently, Indonesia is one of the countries with the largest total wealth of coal energy resources in the world. South Sumatra, as a coal-producing province in Indonesia, is committed to encouraging the creation of an increase in coal production to meet export and domestic interests. In an effort to realize South Sumatra as a National Energy Barn, the Government of South Sumatra has implemented various policies towards the development and improvement of coal infrastructure in South Sumatra Province, starting from the land route (railway) to the river route (port). This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques in the form of interviews and literature studies (library research). The results of this study found that there were three indicators in the national political economy system that described by Thomas Oatley based on the concept of mercantilism the author used in looking at the role and various policies of the Government of South Sumatra, namely: Policies to Reduce the State's Deficit, Policies to Protect Domestic Industries, and Policies to Provide Ease. Through these three indicators, it can be said that the South Sumatra Provincial Government's policy in prioritizing and supporting the development of coal infrastructure has been quite good and successful, as can be seen from the level of coal production and sales in the districts of South Sumatra, which were increasing every year starting from 2017–2021.
