HUBUNGAN ANTARA DUKUNGAN SOSIAL DENGAN TINGKAT STRESS PENDERITA LUPUS PADA KOMUNITAS PENDERITA LUPUS DI KOTA PALEMBANG
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus or Lupus is an autoimmune disease whose sufferers continue to increase every year in Palembang. Despite of lupus being a chronic disease impacting badly physically and psychologically of the sufferer, lupus is still not widely known, it is rare for people to understand or care to provide support for people with lupus. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of social support to the stress level of patients with lupus in Palembang. This research used a cross sectional design, with total sampling. The quantitative data obtained were analyzed using univariate, bivariate using chi-square test, and multivariate using multiple logistic regression test. The results of the bivariate test showed that there was a relationship between social support (p = 0.000), age (p = 0.002), and length of illness (p = 0.034) with stress in people with lupus, while there was no relationship between family history of lupus and stress in patients with lupus (p = 0.976). The results of the multivariate test showed that history of lupus and age were confounding variables. The results of this study are expected that the closest people to people with lupus will show more care and understanding to keep stress levels low, and maintaining motivation for people with lupus to seek treatment and achieve remission.
