HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN DAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA TERHADAP KEPATUHAN DIET HIPERTENSI PADA LANSIA DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS BUNGAMAS KABUPATEN LAHAT
Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that is still a serious problem in health worldwide because its prevalence continues to increase. Hypertension is often experienced by the elderly, after the age of 69 years, hypertension will increase to 50%. Hypertension can be controlled, by being obedient in carrying out a hypertension diet. Adherence to a hypertensive diet can be influenced by knowledge, and family support. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and family support toward hypertension diet compliance in the elderly in the Bungamas Public Health Center, Lahat Regency. This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique was simple random sampling with inclusion and exclusion criteria. The sample in this study was the elderly aged 60-75 years who were in the working area of the Bungamas Health Center and amounted to 68 people. Data analysis techniques are univariate and bivariate. Bivariate analysis in this study used the chi-square test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between knowledge (p-value = 0.000 and OR = 10.667), and family support (p-value = 0.000 and OR = 7) on hypertension diet compliance in the elderly. The higher the level of knowledge and good family support, the higher the level of compliance of the elderly in carrying out a hypertension diet. In this study, it is expected to increase knowledge, family support and adherence to a hypertension diet, and the rate of hypertension in the elderly in the working area of the Bungamas Health Center can decrease.
