REPRESENTASI KEMISKINAN DALAM FILM SQUID GAME (ANALISIS SEMIOTIKA ROLAND BARTHES DALAM DRAMA KOREA SQUID GAME EPISODE 1)
Film or movie is a kind of artificial art that contain messages, constructed in an audiovisual structure, and have the fluent to influence the audience. This study deals with the representation of poverty in the Squid Game series, therefore the theory that is used as the basis for this research is The Roland Barthe's semiotic analysis theory and Chamber's poverty theory as the supporting theory. This study uses qualitative approach to find out how the representation of poverty contained in the Squid Game series. The data techniques used in this research are documentation and literature study. The results of this study explain that in several scenes in the series contain denotations, connotations and myths that contain elements of poverty. Based on the description of the research results, the conclusion that can be explained is that several scenes in the series discovered elements of poverty in the form of powerlessness, vulnerability to emergency situations, dependence and alienation.
