ANALISIS TEKNO-EKONOMI ALAT PENGERING IKAN ASIN BERBAHAN BAKAR GAS
The research objective was to analyze and to determine operational feasibility of drier using Liquified Petroleum Gas energy source in term of techmcal and fmancial aspects for salted fish drying. This study was conducted in two steps. The first step were making and trying the dryer out whereas the second step was doing technical analysis that consisted of effective working capacity determination of the dryer by using technical calculations as well as fmancial feasibility analysis includes profit and loss analysis, cash flow analysis using NPV, NET B/C and BEP criteria, and sensitivity analysis. The result of the research shows that the dryer is technically feasible to be applied. The drying was carried out for 9 hours with 4,065 kg of evaporated water mass. The rate of salted fish water content decrease was 8,902%.hour'1, whereas the evaporation rate of water from material was 0,452 kg.hour'1. Total rate of heat energy required (qt) for drier during the drying process was 4914,83 kal with the rate of hear energy required (g m) was 0,152 kal.s’1. Value of drying efficiency (EF) was 62%. This drier was also financially feasible due to its NPV value of 41.896.315,00 rupiahs and its Net B/C value of 1,377 that were higher than the feasibility threshold values (NPV > 0 and Net B/C > 1). BEP value in term of product price was 7.588,00 rupiahs per kg, whereas BEP value in term of product volume was 2.845,5 kg. Result of sensitivity analysis with the increase of cost by 10% and the decrease of selling price by 10% showed that salted fish drying using this drier was still feasible.
