HUBUNGAN KEBIASAAN SARAPAN DAN JENIS SARAPAN DENGAN PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA DI SEKOLAH MENENGAH ATAS NEGERI 11 KOTA JAMBI
The habit of not having breakfast is one of the health risk habits. The result of skipping breakfast is that the amount of energy needed to study is reduced so that learning achievement becomes less than optimal. Based on the results of the 2015 national school-based health survey in Indonesia, it was found that 39.22% and 49.74% of male and female students had poor breakfast habits. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between breakfast habits and the type of breakfast with student achievement. This research is a quantitative research using a cross sectional research design. The research location is in SMA Negeri 11 Jambi. The sample amounted to 142 students who were selected by simple random sampling technique. The data obtained were processed by statistical tests and then performed with univariate and bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that 53.5% of students had bad breakfast habits and 45.8% of students ate breakfast with less good types and 62% of students had poor learning achievement. In addition, based on descriptive analysis, there are 13 of 15 students who consume fried foods have poor health status and 6 of 7 students who consume milk have good health status. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between breakfast habits and student achievement (p-value 0.05). Students are expected to get used to eating a healthy breakfast according to balanced nutrition guidelines every morning before carrying out the teaching and learning process.
