PEMAKNAAN PEREMPUAN TENTANG KEKERASAN DALAM FILM JAMILA DAN SANG PRESIDEN (ANALISIS RESEPSI FILM JAMILA DAN SANG PRESIDEN)
The film Jamila and President by Ratna Serumpaet with a cultural background, a country that has a patriarchal culture with gender issues. The purpose of this study is to find out how women interpret violence in the film Jamila and the President. This study uses a qualitative research method with the Stuart Hall Reception Analysis model encoding-decoding approach which has three meaning factors, namely frameworks of knowledge, relations of production and technical infrastructure through in-depth interviews and observations that will be applied in data collection. with various backgrounds of different informants. Informants in this Reception Analysis research are survivors of violence and Supporting Informants, namely, the Legal Aid Institute (LBH Palembang) which has the capability or understanding of the issues raised. The results of the research that the researcher did regarding the reception about the meaning of women in the film Jamila and Sang President that the position of the audience in their acceptance of the meaning about women in the film Jamila and Sang President, this research was dominated by the hegemonic position of the 20 violent scenes. The analysis of the reception of women's meaning about violence in the film Jamila and Sang President is divided into three positions of acceptance, namely the dominant hegemonic position, the negotiating position and the opposition position where all respondents are in the absolute oppositional position and the results of the decoding of the oppositional negotiations, namely the three audiences of the survivors agreed that this it's over dramatized.
