The treatment of dental caries is associated with pain perception, which is the main source of dental anxiety. Dental arvciety is one of the main problems in dental care. Approximately 6-15% of the population suffer high dental arvciety and avoidance of dental treatment worldwide. The aim of this research was to measure the level of dental arvciety and its relationship to the dental caries experience toward second year students of Junior High School Number 17 Palembang. This research was conducted by using observational method with analytic cross sectional survey design. Samples were examined in 72 students and taken by a simple random sampling technique. Dental arvciety seal e were measured with Modified Dental Arvciety Scale (MDAS) questionnaire then grouped by total value of MDAS into low (19). Caries experience was measured using the DMFT index and grouped into low (0-2), medium (3-5) and high (>6). Data were analyzed by using chi square statisties test.
