PREVALENSI EKSTRAKSI GIGI PADA PASIEN KUSTA (Leprae) DI RSK DR. RIVAI ABDULLAH PALEMBANG PERIODE JULI 2007 - JULI 2012
Leprosy is a chronic diseases caused by Mycobacterium leprae, it mainly affect the skin, peripheral nerves,and other body tissues. Oral manifestations usually appear in lepromatous leprosy and rare in tuberculoid and borderline forms. Tooth extraction in patients with leprosy is a complex problem and need special attention. This is related to the selection of anesthesia and complications after tooth extraction. This research is a descriptive survey. The sample of the study was to evaluate the prevalence of tooth extraction of leprosy patients including sex and age in patients attending the dental clinic of Dr. Rivai Abdullah Hospital Palembang ffom July 2007 - July 2012 take with purpose sampling techiques. Data analysis using a frequency distribution table, and presentation in the form of a percentage. The result of this research shows that there were a total of 2.459 patients attending in dental clinic of Dr. Rivai Abdullah Palembang ffom July 2007 to July 2012. There were a total of 159 (6.74%) tooth extraction cases of leprosy patients, with aged 55-64 years old is more dominant (46.5%) and percentage of tooth extraction of leprosy patients higher in male patients as many 122 cases (76.73%).
