HUBUNGAN SANITASI LINGKUNGAN DAN PERSONAL HYGIENE IBU DENGAN KEJADIAN DIARE PADA BALITA DI DESA CIGONDANG KECAMATAN LABUAN KABUPATEN PANDEGLANG
Data and information from Indonesia's 2019 health profile show that in Indonesia the diarrhea morbidity rate is still relatively high. In Banten Province, high diarrhea cases are caused by low sanitation hygiene coverage and unhealthy behavior. The incidence of diarrhea in children under five in Pandeglang for ages 0-59 months has reached 10,000 cases. In Cigondang Village, the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers in 2021 will reach 135 cases. One of the important factors related to the spread of diarrheal disease is environmental and behavioral factors. Environmental factors such as clean water supply, garbage disposal, SPAL conditions, and use of latrines as well as behavioral factors such as poor CTPS will cause diarrhea. This study aims to analyze the relationship between environmental sanitation and maternal personal hygiene with the incidence of diarrhea in children under five in Cigondang Village, Labuan District. This study used a cross sectional study design with a simple random sampling technique of 81 children under five. The analysis technique was univariate, bivariate, and multivariate using SPSS in the chi-square test and multiple logistic regression predictive models. The variables of this study that were not significantly related to the incidence of diarrhea were the provision of clean water, waste disposal, and use of latrines. The variables in this study that were significantly related to the incidence of diarrhea were the condition of the sewerage system (SPAL) and the behavior of washing hands with soap (CTPS). The results of multivariate analysis showed that CTPS behavior was the most dominant variable affecting the incidence of diarrhea in children under five after controlling for SPAL condition variables, clean water supply, and use of latrines (p-value = 0.003; PR = 6.224; CI = 1.872-20.694). The conclusion of this study is that environmental factors associated with the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers are SPAL conditions and behavioral factors are maternal CTPS. Suggestions in this study are that people should pay attention to and protect basic environmental sanitation and apply good personal hygiene in their daily lives while making it a good habit.
