DETERMINAN PERILAKU PENANGANAN PESTISIDA PERTANIAN PADA PETANI WANITA USIA SUBUR DI MUSI BANYUASIN
The increasing use of pesticides in the agricultural sector is not balanced by good pesticide handling behavior. Unwise use of pesticides can have an impact on a variety of sectors, including the health of farmers and families. No exception in women farmers of childbearing age who are active in agricultural activities. The study aims to analyze factors related to the behavior of handling agricultural pesticides in women farmers of childbearing age in Musi Banyuasin Regency. This research is quantitative research that is observational with a cross sectional study design. The study sample was taken with a purposive sampling technique that numbered 116 respondents. Data analysis techniques are performed univariately, bivariately with chi-square and multivariate tests with logistic regression tests multiple prediction models. The results showed that there was a relationship between age (p = 0.017), education level (p = 0.010), knowledge (p = 0.002), attitude (p = 0.000), and availability of PPE (0.019) with pesticide handling behavior. Meanwhile, the working period (p = 0.902) and the support of health workers (p = 0.404) had nothing to do with pesticide handling behavior. Attitude is the most dominant factor affecting pesticide handling behavior (PR = 4,253) after being controlled by variable availability of PPE. It was concluded that, the behavior of handling pesticides of women farmers of childbearing age is caused by the most dominant factor is attitude.
