Communication technology is increasingly developing makes social media as communication tool to share information and interact with each other. One of the social media, namely Instagram, is one of the most used media by the people of Indonesia. The form of using Instagram feature, really helps the media in the process of disseminating information. This study aims to determine the use of government social media communication Instagram @bakohumaspalembang.kominfo and @protokol_kota_palembang as a means of local government communication facilities. The theory used in this research is Government Social Media Communication according to Nic DePaula et al and forms three communication models that are developed based on technological developments in government social media. The method used in this research is Quantitative Content Analysis with a descriptive approach. The sample in this study is Instagram uploads of @bakohumaspalembang.kominfo and @protokol_kota_palembang using a random sampling technique with a total sample of 72. The results of the analysis show that @bakohumaspalembang.kominfo, most of the percentages has a more dominant form on providing information, while @protokol_kota_palembang has a more dominant form on online dialogue & offline interaction.
