HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN TENTANG FIBROADENOMA MAMMAE DENGAN MOTIVASI MELAKUKAN PEMERIKSAAN PAYUDARA SENDIRI PADA MAHASISWI ILMU KEPERAWATAN UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
FAM is a benign tumor with the characteristics of being painless, movable, well demarcated and has a firm, spongy consistency. The Western Breast Service Alliance reports that FAM is common in women aged 15-25 years. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about FAM and the motivation to perform breast self-examination in Sriwijaya University Nursing students. The design used is analytic observational using cross sectional method, the population is Sriwijaya University Nursing Students, the sample is 221 respondents, the sampling technique is stratified random sampling. The research instrument used a questionnaire. 78.3% of respondents have a good level of knowledge and for motivation 54.3% of respondents have moderate motivation to do Consciousness. The results of data analysis using the Chi-Square test showed that there was no significant relationship between the level of knowledge about FAM and the Awareness motivation of Sriwijaya University Nursing Students (p-value 0.410). Motivation is not only influenced by knowledge factors, but also influenced by other factors including information, physical condition, expectations, needs, desires, environment and support from family and peers, the majority of respondents have the characteristics of these factors in the good category. However, the discrepancy between the results of this study and previous research can be caused by several factors, because 68 respondents stated that they had not received information even though information was a factor that influenced knowledge and motivation, besides that 102 respondents had less desire and hope to realize.
