REPRESENTASI KEMISKINAN STUDI PADA FILM KOREA PARASITE
This thesis aims to determine the representation of poverty in the Korean film Parasite. This study uses qualitative research methods using descriptive methods. Based on the results of the researcher's analysis that has been obtained, it can be concluded that the results of the research found with the theory of Semiotics of Charles Sanders Peirce to determine the signs, objects, and interpretants in the film. The film Parasite is another side of life in South Korea, where there are still visible social inequalities. The film Parasite describes the poverty that exists in South Korea, how the scenes, settings, and dialogues are. Poverty described in the film Parasite is a type of absolute poverty, which is a condition where a person does not have sufficient income to meet his basic needs such as clothing, food, housing, education, and health. Parasite is a film that depicts life as unemployed, has a cramped, damp and slum dwelling, and a life that is chased by debt.
