OBJEKTIFIKASI PEREMPUAN DALAM TINDAKAN CATCALLING (Pandangan Mahasiswi Universitas Sriwijaya Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Kampus Bukit Palembang Korban Catcalling)
This study examines "Objectification of Women in Catcalling (Views of Sriwijaya Universitym Students, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Bukit Palembang Campus Victims of Catcalling)". The issue in this study is how students who have been victims of catcalling respond to catcalling and how the objectification process works in catcalling. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, with informants chosen for a specific purpose. Techniques for collecting data include observation, interviews, and documentation. This study was analyzed using the concept of Women Objectification by Federickson and Robert. The results of this study indicate that there is objectification of women in catcalling that occurs among students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Sriwijaya University. At the time of the catcalling, the female students felt that they were being made the objects of a joke when the catcaller felt bored. They always watched and monitored their body shape and movements. They are pressured to be pretty and nice to catcallers, and they are criticized for their body features and expressions.
