Stroke is the main cause of death and disability in Indonesia. The high-risk factor of the stroke is atrial fibrillation. The method of early detection of atrial fibrillation recommended by PERKI is using the MENARI Techcique but older ones have difficulty doing so. The purpose of the research was to simple prototype defelopment of atrial fibrillation early detection device for indication of stroke risk in the elderly. This study used a descriptive research design with a research and development approach, and implementation was carried out at CV Cometronica Palembang and Elderly Social Institution Harapan Kita Indralaya. The working concept of the prototype was detects pulse using pulse sensor. The prototype reads and displays pulse rate with an additional LED indicator accompanied by noise from the buzzer. The main components used the Arduino, Pulse Sensor, LED, Buzzer, Oled, Prototype Button, dan Battery. The analysis of this research carried out two stages of testing the prototype of the atrial fibrillation early detection device. The first test is 6 times each on 4 experimental units, so that overall there are 24 times of testing. The second test was carried out by comparing the pulse of prototype with the pulse oximeter result. The first test results show the prototype reads and displays the pulse, LED and buzzer activate when reading pulse 100bpm, >140bpm. A second test result was percentage error 0,31% (very accurate) on reading the value of the pulse. The output of the prototype readings focuses on the pulse rate and displayed on the oled using easy to understand writing. Additional output in the form of an LED with a buzzer making it very easy and effective for the elderly in monitoring the pulse rate with all the limitations and setbacks that the elderly have. The simple prototype of atrial fibrillation early detection device still needs development related to the detection of pulse rhythm.
