Malaria is a vector borne disease caused by a protozoan parasite of the genus plasmodium which is transmitted from the bite of the Anopheles spp. mosquito, tid disease is characterized by the discovery of asexual forms in the blood and this parasite attacks erythrocytes..Gunung Megang District is one of the sub-districts in Muara Enim district, which in 2019 had 34 malaria cases. The most common plasmodum parasite found to be the cause of malaria is plasmodium falciparum and the remaining 2 are plasmodium vivax. This study aims to identify Anopheles larvae species in puddles in Gunung Megang district, Muara Enim Regency. This study used a descriptive method with a cross sectional approach. The samples used were all mosquito larvae of Anopheles spp. that have been caught in the larval survey by purposive sampling. Data analysis using univariate analysis is a description using tables and figures. The results of this study indicate that there were 4 breeding habitats for Anopheles spp. in the form of culverts, swamps, lakes and ponds with water temperatures ranging from 26,4-28,3◦C, water pH from 6,56-7,06 and water salinity 0 o/oo. Show that there are 3 species of Anopheles spp. The ones found were An.barbirostris, An.sinensis and An.umbrosus. The conclusion of this study is that the area of Gunung Megang District, Muara Enim Regency has the potential to be a breeding habitats for Anopheles spp. larvae because the environment and aquatic habitats that support the existence of mosquito breeding places. There is control for Anopheles spp. from the Puskesmas and local village heads by conducting field surveys in breeding habitats that have the potential for Anopheles spp. larvae. This can be done by spreading predatory fish that eat larvae and larvicides in aquatic habitats that have the potential for larva breeding.
