South Sumatra has a high percentage of early marriage, it’s reaching 55.32%, while in Palembang, 40% of cases of early marriage are found. In the same year, Palembang was the highest city in South Sumatra with 22,650 teenage pregnancy cases. Pregnancy at adolescence has a risk of being born prematurely, low birth weight babies (LBW), the risk of cervical cancer to cause death for mothers and babies. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship of factors related to the intention to do early marriage in adolescents and to determine the most dominant factors that influence it. This study used an analytic observational with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study was all adolescents aged 15-19 years at high school in Palembang. The sampling technique in this study used the purposive sampling method with a total of 117 adolescents as respondents. The analysis of this study consisted of univariate analysis, bivariate with chi-square statistical test, and multivariate with multiple logistic regression test prediction model. The results of the univariate analysis show that 83% the majority of adolescent do not want to get married early, the chi-square test show that the variables that have a relationship with early marriage intentions are knowledge variables (p-value=0.005, PR=3.886, CI=1.499-10.075), Attitude Toward Behavior (p-value=0.000, PR=5.515, CI = 2,289-13,290), Subjective Norm (p-value=0.000, PR=4.756, CI=2.060-10.981), Perceived Behavior Control (p-value=0.000, PR=3.564, CI=1.526-8.322) and gender (p-value=0,004, PR=3,729, CI=1,529-9,092). Meanwhile, those that do not have a relationship with early marriage intentions are maternal education, parental income, living together. The results of the multivariate analysis test showed that the Subjective Norm (p-value 0.001; PR= 16,093; CI= 3,011-86,000) was the variable that most influenced adolescents intentions towards early marriage, which means that adolescents who received positive subjective norms support for early marriage had a 16,093 times higher chance to have the intention of getting married early. So that it is necessary to increase the socialization of the impact of early marriage and preparation of adolescents to face family life at school and social media so that information can be reached evenly by adolescents and parents.
