HUBUNGAN FREKUENSI KONSUMSI DAN JENIS MAKANAN RINGAN TERHADAP SKOR deft PADA ANAK USIA 4-5 TAHUN DI TK KARTIKA II-1 PALEMBANG
Teeth is one part of the body that serves to chew, speak and mainiain the shape of the face, so it is important to maintain healthy teeth as early as possible in order to survive longer in the mouth. According to the Profil Kesehatan Kota Palembang in 2014, the prevalence of caries children under the age of 12 years in Palembang w as 45.19%. The high prevalence of dental caries in children could be caused by excessive consumption o f snacks. Children ages 2 to 5 years 50% general ly prefer sweet foods like candy, chocolate, pastries, sugar and others who are manifold cariogenic snacks and eating snacks exceed the frequency of feeding primarily or more than three times a day. This study aims to determine the relationship of consumption frequency and type of snacks to deft score in children aged 4-5 years in TK Kartika II-l Palembang. This type of research w as a cross sectional study. The study w as conducted in children aged 4-5 years in TK Kartika II-l with a population of 91 children and using total sampling that the entire population sampled. Data were analyzed with chi square test at the 0.05 alpha. Results showed children who eat a snack in the category often or more than three times a day amounted to 52.7%, and more often consume cariogenic foods of 57.1% and an average score deft 4.56 (in the high category). Statistical analysis showed that there was significant relationship t o the frequency of consumption of snacks with deft score (p value = 0.002), and there correlation between the type of snacks consumed with deft score (p value = 0.003). Reducing or limiting the f requency of consumption of snacks especially the type of cariogenic become one of the efforts to prevent dental caries.
