ANALISIS STRATEGI KEBIJAKAN INDONESIA DALAM MELINDUNGI PELAKU USAHA DALAM NEGERI TERKAIT DAMPAK DARI ASEAN FREE TRADE AREA (AFTA)
International cooperation is important for every country. This collaboration can take the form of various activities, both in the education, security, trade, industry, and so on. The free trade phenomenon is no exception which is currently taking place around the world. This study aims to analyze how the Indonesian government's strategy in protecting local producers is related to the impact of free trade. It focuses on policies issued by the Indonesian government which are considered to protect local producers, and the sustainability of these policies. By using the concept of Protectionism, this study will describe how the Indonesian government's strategy in protecting local producers, and the implementation of Indonesian government policies in the Indonesian agricultural sector. Furthermore, this research will analyze the condition of Indonesian agriculture after the issuance of the Indonesian government's policy The results of this study explain Indonesia's policy to protect local producers from the invasion of imported goods due to free trade and to realize Indonesia's interests in realizing food sovereignty. From the results of the existing analysis, the Indonesian government's efforts to protect local producers have not provided maximum results for domestic agriculture and some have not run according to the procedures of the policy. This can be seen from several Indonesian government policies that have not worked well and have not had a positive impact on domestic agriculture and there are several facts that are not in accordance with the procedures in the published policies
