HUBUNGAN PREFERENSI MAKAN DAN LAMA WAKTU MAKAN DENGAN STATUS GIZI REMAJA USIA 13-15 TAHUN DI KOTA PALEMBANG
Adolescence is a critical period in the life cycle. Important things that occur during adolescence include the acceleration of growth, the absence of emotional and hormonal balance, and being able to determine their own food choices and preferences. This can affect the nutritional status of adolescents. Eating preferences in adolescence will affect the level of consumption, nutritional intake, and determinants of eating preferences as adults. The length of time to eat is also known to affect nutritional status because fast eating affects the increase in energy intake. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between eating preferences and length of time eating with the nutritional status of adolescents aged 13-15 years in Palembang City. This research is an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional study design. The sample for this research was 60 students in SMP Negeri 11 and SMP Negeri 40 which were taken by a purposive sampling technique. The bivariate analysis used was the Kolmogorov Smirnov test. This study shows that the students' eating preferences for vegetables and fruit groups are low (53.3%) and (51.7%). Male students eat faster (63.16%), and boys have an overweight status (31.6%) more than girls. The results of bivariate analysis showed that eating preference (p = 0.999) and length of time to eat (p = 1.000) did not have a significant relationship with nutritional status. There needs to be an effort to increase the eating preferences of vegetables and fruits in adolescents, besides that adolescents need to get used to eating slowly especially in boys to reduce the risk of nutritional problems.
