Disturbance in dental development (timing or sequence of eruption) may contribute to a chain of complications such as malocclusions, crowding, impaired oral hygiene, periodontal disease, and associated dental anda arthodontic treatment needs. Nutritional status has one of important role in the timing eruption. Measurement of the nutritional status that most widely used is the body mass index (BMI). Children with undemutrition show that slower tooth eruption whereas children with obesity show early tooth eruption time compared with the children with normal nutritional status. This studi aims at determining relationship between nutritional status with permanenen lower first molar and incisor tooth eruption stage in Palembangnes aged 6-7 years. This study used cross sectional analytic, 400 healthy children (211 boys and 189 girls) aged 6-7 years from elementary school 177, 178, and 179 Palembang were examinated the body mass index and eruption stage of permanent lower first molar and incisor and then analyzed using Kendali9s Tau. The result showed there were relationship between nutritional status with permanent lower first molar and incisor tooth eruption stage (p = 0,000). The conclusion of this study that children with higher nutritional status accelerated tooth eruption stage.
