Mucocele and ranula are common oral mucosal lesion originating in salivary gland. Mucocele is a swelling caused by the accumulation of saliva that is obstructed minor salivary gland tract. Mucocele occur at any location in minor salivary gland but more often found on the lower lip. Ranula is a swelling caused by obstructed mayor salivary gland tract from sublingual gland or submandubula gland. This study w as descriptive survey review. The objective of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of mucocele and ranula related sex and age in patients who attended the dental clinic of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang during January 2009 -Juny 2012. The result of this research showed that from 32.403 patients who came to the dental clinic RSUP. Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang during January 2009 - Juny 2012, there were 109 mucocele cases (0,33%) and 24 ranula cases (0,07%). Most of them were females and less than 20 years old.
