ANALISIS DATA KECELAKAAN PESAWAT TERBANG KOMERSIAL MENGGUNAKAN METODE EXPLORATORY DATA ANALYSIS
This research aims to analyze the changes on commercial aircraft accidents and fatalities graphs per year, before and after ICAO establishment, to see how effective ICAO’s role as an international aviation safety organization is in tackling the number of accidents and fatalities of worldwide commercial aircrafts. The methods that used in this research are Descriptive Statistics and Exploratory Data Analysis, which are used to describe the characteristics of each selected variables, then analyze the relations of the selected variables to answer the research questions which defined before. The result of this research showed that there is a trend in which the graph of the number of accidents per year decreased by 3.37% in the periode (1948-2020) after the establishment of ICAO, but the graph of the number of fatalities per year increased very significantly by 78.5%, even though the number of accidents is lower. This trend can happen because of the evolution of the size of commercial aircrafts that are getting bigger, as the number of passengers on airplanes grows significantly each year.
