Previous studies have discovered that COVID-19 had a negative impact on the global economy. One of the business sectors that has been negatively impacted by COVID-19 is the financial sector, a vital sector for the nation’s economy which operates in the public service and is responsible for saving money, deposits, funds, and providing credit. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of COVID-19 on Indonesian financial sector companies. This study used panel data that consists of financial statement information from 87 samples obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange website for the 2018-2021 quarter period. Furthermore, data on COVID-19 cases in Indonesia were obtained from The World Health Organization website for the 2018-2021 daily period. The method used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis with the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) estimation. This study found that COVID-19 has a negative impact on financial performance as measured by Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), and efficiency ratio. However, this study did not find the impact of COVID-19 on financial performance that is measured by net income growth.
