ANALISIS DAYA SAING KAKAO INDONESIA DI PASAR INTERNASIONAL
Indonesian cocoa market opportunities are quite open for both export and domestic needs in line with the special advantages possessed by Indonesian cocoa. As one of the world’s largest cocoa bean exporters, the Indonesian government aims to make cocoa one of the mainstay export commodities. This study aims to analyze the competitiveness of Indonesian cocoa in the international market by measuring market structure using the Concentration Ratio (CR4) method and competitive advantage using the Trade Specialization Index (ISP) method along with M. Porter’s Theory. The result of the research analysis show that the cocoa market structure in the international market belongs to the fourth type of oligopoly market or moderate to low oligopoly. Indonesian cocoa has strong competitiveness and tends to be a cocoa exporting country in the international market. The four factors that determine M. Porter’s competitive advantage that are already available, Indonesian cocoa has strong competitiveness, although several factors must be addressed further. It is very necessary to improve so that Indonesian cocoa is more competitive and can be used as a leading export commodity according to the government’s objectives.
