HUBUNGAN ANTARA URBANISASI, PERTUMBUHAN EKONOMI, DAN FDI (FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT) DI NEGARA ASEAN-5
This study aims to identify the relationship among urbanization, economic growth, and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in 5 ASEAN countries. The data used in this study were time-series data from 1985 to 2019 and cross-sections from five countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines. The method used in this study was the Granger causality test. The results of this study showed that there was a one-way relationship from economic growth to urbanization, FDI to urbanization, and economic growth to FDI, but there was no two-way relationship among the three variables in Indonesia; There was a one-way relationship from FDI to urbanization, but there was no two-way relationship among the three variables in Malaysia; there was a one-way relationship from economic growth to urbanization and FDI to urbanization, but there was no two-way relationship among the three variables in Thailand; there was a two-way relationship from economic growth to urbanization. and FDI to urbanization, but there was a one-way relationship from FDI to economic growth in Singapore; and there was no relationship among the three variables in the Philippines.
