This study aims to analyze the comparison of performance in the Islamic banking industry in Indonesia and Malaysia using the maqashid sharia index approach. The performance assessment of Islamic banking usually only looks at the financial side. In this study, the performance of Islamic banking was assessed using the maqashid sharia index approach, viewed from the social and community welfare aspects. This type of research is quantitative descriptive with the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. The research object is 3 Islamic banking in each country, and the total sample of this research is 6 Islamic banking based on purposive sampling method. The data used is secondary data of annual financial reports (annual report). The results of this study indicate that Malaysian Islamic banking has a good performance compared to Indonesian Islamic banking and there is no significant difference in performance using the Maqashid Syariah Index (MSI) approach.
