ANALISIS DETERMINAN NON PERFORMING LOAN PADA BANK UMUM DI INDONESIA PERIODE 2010–2020
Banking is an economic milestone in all countries, including Indonesia. The main function of the bank is to distribute credit as an intermediary between the fund deficit party and the fund surplus party. Bad credit can be intentional or unintentional. This study aims to determine the effect of exchange rates, economic growth, inflation and unemployment on Non-Performing Loans in commercial banks in Indonesia for the period 2010 – 2020 in the short and long term using the Error Correction Model (ECM) analysis technique. The results of the study analysis showed that exchange rates and unemployment affect NPLs positively and insignificantly in the short term, then positively and significantly in the long term. Economic growth affects NPLs negatively and significantly in the short term, then negatively and insignificantly in the long term. Inflation affects NPLs negatively and insignificantly in the short term, then negatively and significantly in the long term. It is recommended that the public help the government in efforts to reduce the level of Non-Performing Loans so that the banking situation in Indonesia can be better and the Indonesian economy can be more advanced.
