This study aims to prove the effect of extrinsic motivation on student learning outcomes in economics subjects at SMA Srijaya Negara Palembang. This research is causal associative research. The research population of all class XI Social Studies at SMA Srijaya Negara Palembang was 4 classes with a total of 136 students. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation. Based on the results of the study obtained extrinsic motivation data in good category with a percentage of 73% and learning outcomes categorized as good enough with a percentage of 59% based on statistical calculations using t test obtained tcount > ttable that is 17.64 > 1.697 then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted so that it can be concluded that there are the effect of extrinsic motivation on student learning outcomes in economic subjects at SMA Srijaya Negara Palembang. It is suggested that students can adjust to each other with their peers in the learning process in class, so that the indicators of peer encouragement can be better.
