PERAN TAMAN KOTA DALAM KONSERVASI KEANEKARAGAMAN SEMUT (HYMENOPTERA: FORMICIDAE) DI KOTA PALEMBANG DAN SUMBANGANNYA TERHADAP PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI SMA
This study aims to determine the types of plants that play a role in ant conservation and to find out the types of ants from the Formicidae family in Palembang city park. The research time is January 2022 to March 2022. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with exploration to find out what types of plants play a role in ant conservation and what types of ants from the Formicidae family were found. Ants are one of the groups of animals that are used to determine indicators of biodiversity in conservation areas. The results showed that city parks play a role in the conservation of the diversity of ants of the Formicidae family that the plant species that play a role in conserving the ants of the Formicidae family as nesting sites are 5 species, namely oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.), waregu palm (Rhapis excelsa), cherry (Muntingia calabura) , mango (Mangifera indica), and mother-in-law's tongue (Sansevieria triasciata). There are 7 species of plant species as food providers, namely matoa (Pommetia pinnata), mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana), longan (Dimocarpus longan), yellow bamboo (Bambusa vulgaris Schrad), heliconia (Heliconia psittacorum), alamanda (Allamanda cathartica L.), and banana (Musa paradisiaca). The most important plant in ant conservation is mango (Mangifera indica). The ant species of the Formicidae family found were Paratrechina longicornis, Oecophylla smaragdina, Dolichoderus thoracicus, Tetramorium caespitum, Solenopsis geminata, Tapinoma melanocephalum, and Anoplolepis gracilipes. Information from this research is used as material for learning biology in SMA class X ecosystem material, which is donated in the form of student worksheets (LKPD). Key words: Plants, ants, Formicidae, urban parks, conservation
