Parents’ knowledge about children teeth and mouth sanitation is particularly required so that children’s teeth can be upheld well. Looking over children’s teeth and gums since an early stage of age, reducing sugar from diet, flour application, brushing teeth regularly and paying a visit to tho dentist are acts that can help maintaining the health of teeth and gums. Knowledge is a subject had by one formally or informally. def-t is used to count the number of caries in primary teeth. Diffkulties: It hasn’t been known yet about correlation between mothers’ knowledge about dental caries in pre-school children aging from 3 to 5 years old at TK Aisyiyah Palembang in 2009. Objective : Knowing the correlation between mothers’ knowledge about dental caries in pre-school children in the age of 3 to 5 years old at TK Aisyiyah Palembang in 2009. Method : This study was carried out using method of observationa! descriptive research with a cross- sectional approach. This study was conduced at TK Aisyiyah Palembang, in February 2009 with samples of 68 individuals, 34 mothers and 34 children each. Result : The mayority of mothers’ knowledge about pre-school children’s teeth and oral health mostly is decent and dental caries status in pre-school children’s def-t is relative high. Conclusion : There isn’t a meaningful correlation between mothers’ knowledge and dental caries in pre-school children in the age 3 to 5 years at TK Aisyiyah Palembang in 2009.
