This study aims to determine what strategies teachers use in developing writing readiness skills for children aged (5-6) years at PAUD PKK Batu Urip II, Lahat Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects were 3 teachers who taught at PAUD PKK Batu Urip II. Data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study stated that the strategy used by the teacher in developing the writing readiness of children aged 5-6 years at PAUD PKK Batu Urip II was to use a strategy through the media with the help of coloring activities and direct teaching strategies by imitating writing. This effort is made by the teacher to help children develop skills in writing so that they are more mature and children are ready to continue to the next level.
