This study aims to determine the highest value in steel materials low carbon using SMAW type welding machine, using the X junction, which distinguishes the use of ampere current variations (100 A, 130 A, 160 A) used in welded joints by saw tensile test result. This research is included in the experimental method. Result this study is a comparison of tensile strength using variations of different amperage currents, which has the highest value among the 3 variations of ampere currents namely the current variation of 160 A with a yield stress value of 38,86 kgf/mm2, tensile stress 42,63 kgf/mm2, and fracture stress 20,16 kgf/mm2. The general conclusion is that the difference in amperage current variations greatly affects the result of the strength of the welded joint at the time of the tensile test, which is stronger and tougher namely high amperage current variations, high amperage current variations too make it easier for the welder to do welding.
